2Unter dem Archon Antikles (325/4); die Aigeis hatte die fünfte
3Prytanie inne; Antiphon S.d. Koroibos aus dem Demos EleusisVIII war
4Sekretär; am elften (Tag des Monats), dem vierunddreissigsten der Prytanie;
5von den Vorsitzenden leitete die Abstimmung Philyllos aus dem Demos Eleusis;
6Demosthenes S.d. Demokles aus dem Demos Lamptrai stellte den Antrag: da
7Herakleides von Salamis stets ehrgeizig
8gegenüber dem Volk der Athener ist und nach Kräften
9Gutes tut, und in der Vergangenheit während
10der Getreideknappheit 3000 Medimnen Weizen zu 5 Drachmen gegeben hat
11als erster der eintreffenden Getreidehändler, und wiederum,
12als die Spendenumlage stattfand, er 3000 Drachmen spendete
13für den Getreideankauf, und er auch sonst stets wohlwollend und
14ehrgeizig ist gegenüber dem Volk, wolle beschließen das Volk:
15dass man belobige Herakleides S.d. Charikleides von Salamis
16und bekränze mit goldenem Kranz wegen seines Wohlwollens
17und seines Ehrgeizes gegenüber dem Volk der Athener;
18dass er Proxenos und Wohltäter des Volkes
19der Athener sei, er selbst und die Nachkommen; dass ihm auch
20das Recht sei zum Erwerb von Grund und Haus gemäß dem Gesetz, und
21dass sie Militärdienst leisten im Heer und die Extra-Steuern
22zahlen zusammen mit den Athenern; dass diesen
23Beschluss aufzeichne der Sekretär, der während der Prytanien amtiert,
24und auch die anderen Ehreungen, die ihm zuteil wurden,
25auf eine steinerne Stele und aufstelle auf der Akropolis;
26dass für die Aufzeichnung auf die Stele der Schatzmeister
2730 Drachmen gebe aus dem Dekret-Fonds
28des Volkes.

29Telemachos S.d. Theangelos aus dem Demos Acharnai stellte den Antrag: da
30Herakleides von Salamis das Getreide dem Volk gegeben hat
31für fünf Drachmen als erster der eintreffenden Getreidehändler
32unter dem Archon Aristophon (330/29), soll Beschluss fassen
33das Volk: dass man belobige Herakleides S.d. Charikleides von
34Salamis und ihn bekränze mit goldenem Kranz
35wegen seines Ehrgeizes gegenüber dem Volk der Athener;
36und da er auf seiner Fahrt nach Athen von Herakleoten
37gekapert und seine Segel geraubt worden sind, dass man
38als Gesandten einen Mann aus allen Athenern wähle, der sich nach seiner
39Ankunft in Herakleia zu Dionysios begeben und ersuchen wird, Herakleides’
40Segel zurückzugeben und in Zukunft kein Unrecht zu verüben
41an denen, die nach Athen segeln; und wenn er dies tut, dass er
42das Rechte tun und einer gerechten Behandlung durch das Volk
43der Athener nicht verlustig gehen wird; dass der Schatzmeister des Volkes
44dem gewählten Gesandten als Wegegeld 50 Drachmen gebe aus
45dem Dekret-Fonds des Volkes. Es
46wurde gewählt: Thebagenes aus dem Demos Eleusis.

47Telemachos S.d. Theangelos aus dem Demos Acharnai stellte den Antrag: das Volk
48wolle beschließen, dass der Rat eine Beschlussvorlage formuliere und einbringe in
49die erste Volksversammlung über Herakleides, wie er
50auf alle möglichen Vergünstigungen rechnen könne seitens des Volkes
51der Athener.

52Kephisodotos S.d. Euarchides aus dem Demos Acharnai stellte den Antrag: worüber das
53Volk dem Rat auftrug, eine Beschlussvorlage einzubringen über
54Herakleides von Salamis, wolle beschließen der Rat:
55da Herakleides, als er nach Athen segelte und Getreide
56mit sich führte, dem Volk dreitausend Medimnen zu
57je fünf Drachmen gab, dass die Vorsitzenden, die ausgelost sein
58werden zum Vorsitz für die erste Volksversammlung, Herakleides
59einführen vor das Volk und verhandeln lassen
60und die Beschlußvorlage des Rates in die Volksversammlung
61einbringen, wonach der Rat beschließt, zu belobigen Herakleides S.d.
62Charikleides von Salamis und zu bekränzen mit
63goldenem Kranz von 500 Drachmen (Wert); dass er auch
64seitens des Volkes auf alle möglichen Vergünstigungen rechnen dürfe, damit
65auch die anderen ehrgeizig sind in dem Wissen, dass der Rat ehrt und bekränzt diejenigen,
66die ehrgeizig sind.

67Phyleus S.d. Pausanias aus dem Demos Oinoe stellte den Antrag: da Herakleides von Salamis, als er nach
68Athen segelte und Getreide brachte unter dem Archon Aristophon (330/29), dem Volk 3000 Medimnen gab zu
695 Drachmen, und deswegen das Volk für ihn beschlossen hat, dass der Rat eine Beschlussvorlage
70einbringe in die Volksversammlung, wie er auf alle möglichen Vergünstigungen rechnen könne seitens
71des Volkes der Athener; und wiederum unter dem Archon Euthykritos (328/7) er dem Volk zum Getreideankauf 3000
72Drachmen gab, wolle beschließen der Rat: dass die Vorsitzenden, die ausgelost sein werden zum Vorsitz für die Haupt-
73Volksversammlung, Herakleides einführen vor das Volk und verhandeln lassen und die Beschlußvorlage
74des Rates in die Volksversammlung einbringen, wonach der Rat beschließt, zu belobigen Herakleides
75S.d. Charikleides von Salamis und zu bekränzen mit goldenem Kranz von 500 Drachmen (Wert);
76dass er auch seitens des Volkes auf solche Vergünstigungen rechnen dürfe, deren er würdig ist, damit

2In the archonship of Antikles (325/4), in the fifth prytany,
3of Aigeis, for which Antiphon son of Koroibos of Eleusis
4was secretary. On the eleventh, the thirty-fourth of the prytany.
5Of the presiding committee Philyllos of Eleusis was putting to the vote.
6Demosthenes son of Demokles of Lamptrai proposed: since
7Herakleides of Salamis continues to show love of honour
8towards the Athenian People and to do whatever
9good is in his power; and both previously donated in the
10grain shortage 3,000 medimnoi of wheat at 5 drachmas,
11being the first of the merchants to sail in, and again
12when the voluntary donations took place, donated 3,000 drachmas for
13grain purchase, and in other respects continues to be well disposed and honour-loving
14towards the People, the People shall decide:
15to praise Herakleides son of Charikleides of Salamis
16and crown him with a gold crown for his good will
17and love of honour towards the Athenian People;
18and he shall be proxenos and benefactor of the Athenian
19People, himself and his descendants; and they shall have
20right of ownership of land and a house according to the law and
21they shall do military service and pay
22capital taxes with the Athenians; and the prytany secretary
23shall inscribe this decree
24and the other praises there have been for him
25on a stone stele and stand it on the acropolis;
26and for inscribing the stele the treasurer shall give
2730 drachmas from the People’s fund for expenditure
28on decrees.
III
29Telemachos son of Theangelos of Acharnai proposed: since
30Herakleides of Salamis donated grain to the
31People at five drachmas, as first of the merchants
32to sail in in the archonship of Aristophon (330/29), the People
33shall resolve: to praise Herakleides son of Charikleides
34of Salamis and crown him with a gold crown
35for his love of honour towards the Athenian People;
36and since on his voyage to Athens he was brought to land by the Herakleots
37and deprived by them of his sails, to elect as an envoy
38one man from all the Athenians to go
39to Herakleia to Dionysios and to request him to return
40Herakleides’ sails and refrain in future from wronging
41those sailing to Athens; and by acting in this way
42he will be acting justly and will not fail to be treated justly
43by the Athenian People; and the treasurer of the People
44shall give 50 drachmas travelling expenses to the elected envoy from the
45People’s fund for expenditure on decrees.
46Thebagenes of Eleusis was elected envoy.

48shall resolve: that the Council shall formulate and bring forward
49to the next Assembly a proposal about Herakleides, for
50him to seek whatever benefit he can from the Athenian

64to seek from the People whatever benefit he can, so that
65others may also show love of honour, knowing that the Council honours and crowns those who
66show love of honour.

67Phyleus son of Pausanias of Oinoe proposed: since Herakleides of Salamis, having sailed
68to Athens bringing grain in the archonship of Aristophon (330/29), donated to the People 3000
69medimnoi at 5 drachmas and for that the People resolved that the Council
70should formulate and bring forward to the People a proposal for him to seek whatever benefit he could from
71the Athenian People, and again in the archonship of Euthykritos (328/7) he donated to the People for grain purchase 3000
72drachmas, the Council shall decide: that the presiding committee allotted to preside at the Principal
73Assembly shall introduce Herakleides to the People and put his case on the agenda and submit
74the opinion of the Council to the People, that it seems good to the Council, to praise Herakleides
75son of Charikleides of Salamis and crown him with a gold crown of 500 drachmas;
76and that he be permitted to seek from the People whatever benefit he may be worthy of, so that
